The time your fancy dish burned in the oven just before the party guests arrived. Hopping on a bus headed into an adventure towards nowhere. Saying yes before you had any idea what you were saying yes to.

We all know the moment when the carefully laid-out plan goes completely off the rails — and suddenly, there’s nothing left to do but take a breath, trust your instincts, and… wing it.

For our next Storyslam, we want to hear your stories of improvisation, spontaneity, happy accidents, questionable decisions, and those moments when you had absolutely no idea what you were doing — but somehow made it work.

WHEN THE PLAN GOES OUT THE WINDOW

Maybe you missed the last train and ended up somewhere you'd never planned to be. Maybe your big presentation crashed five minutes before you went on stage. Maybe you agreed to go on a date, take a job, get on a plane, or follow a stranger's recommendation without having the faintest idea where it would lead.

Sometimes winging it is terrifying. Sometimes it's ridiculous. And sometimes, looking back, it's exactly what you needed.

• The Plan B: When everything went wrong and you had to improvise your way out.
• The Leap: That spontaneous decision to say yes, go somewhere, try something, or do something completely out of character.
• The Happy Accident: When a mistake, wrong turn, or unexpected detour led somewhere surprisingly wonderful.
• The “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?”: That decision that seemed perfectly reasonable at the time… and absolutely wasn't.
• No Idea What I Was Doing: When you found yourself in completely unfamiliar territory and somehow figured it out along the way.
